How To Move House In The Shortest Time Possible

It’s not advisable to leave your house move until the last minute, but sometimes it’s not up to you! If you ever find yourself needing to move house in a hurry then you can find yourself under a lot of stress and pressure. Here are just a few tips to help you move both quickly and efficiently if you don’t have much time!1)    Make a plan. It’s always advisable to make a plan if you’re moving house – especially if you don’t have that much time to move in! Decide how long you have to pack up your home, how long you have to find a removal company or removal van and how long you’re going to have on moving day. Once you’ve done this you can set aside certain periods of time for certain tasks, for example, if you have one day to pack up your living room and kitchen it’s feasible to set aside four hours per room. Don’t set yourself unrealistic goals as you could end up stressing yourself out! Instead try and think carefully about how much you have to achieve and how long it will take you.2)    Source packing materials. If you’re moving house in a hurry then you won’t have time to source the packing materials that you need. Make a couple of trips to your local supermarket to gather boxes, and use household items to pad out your fragile and breakable items. Carrier bags, newspaper and magazines make great wadding for your boxes, while bedding and towels can be used to protect items that are likely to break. Be aware that these methods aren’t going to be as effective as bubble-wrap or foam packing peanuts, but they can work well enough if you’re stuck for time!3)    Pack up your items – fast! When it comes to the actual packing, try not to take your time. Clear-out as you go, throwing away or donating items that you don’t want to take with you. If you don’t have time to sort through your clothes, folding and carefully packing them away then why not move them, directly on their hangers, into your car? As long as they’re laid flat there should be no creasing! Another great tip is to remove the drawers from your bedroom dressing table or kitchen unit and wrap them in plastic wrap, still with their contents inside. As long as they’re tightly sealed you’ll be able to transport these make-shift boxes both quickly and easily.4)    Hire help.If you have professional movers on your side then you’re going to be able to move much more efficiently and quickly. Professional removal companies often have to work under pressure, and having teams of experts will be invaluable for you if you’re moving in a hurry. If you can’t find a removal company in time then why don’t you enlist the help of your friends and family? They’ll be able to help with lifting, loading, packing and even unpacking. When you’re moving in a hurry the more hands you have on deck the better, so now would be the time to call in any favours owed to your by work colleagues, friends, family and neighbours!5)    Cleaning. If you’re leaving a rented property then you may need to complete an end-of-tenancy clean. Don’t panic about this though – you can hire professional cleaners to do the job for you so that you’re free to focus on the more important parts of your house move! Shop around for the best deals and always look for customer reviews.
